REVERZE INTERCONNECTED 2017
Concerts & Touring
We automated a large and eye-catching central set piece - a giant pair of VR goggles - and 8 ‘dancing’ video pods for Bass Events’ annual Reverze spectacle. Europe’s biggest hard-style dance indoor extravaganza was again staged in the 20,000 capacity Antwerp Sportpaleis.
The venue was, as usual, packed to capacity with fans who were treated to a series of visual and sonic delights! Known for its ambitious production values, this year’s event was titled “Interconnected” and proved to be another flagship gig which offered huge scope for fun.
WI’s project manager Geert Stockmans and the team worked closely with Bass Events’ show designer Frank Verstraeten.
The VR goggles weighed 4.5 tonnes, so WI supplied four 2.5 tonne Elevation vari-speed hoists to move it up and down above the DJ booth.
Four 51 metre sections of WITRACK were fitted below WI stacking truss and square truss sections to move the eight video cubes around above the audience.
Each track had two trolley-carts attached, and each of these in turn had three half tonne HOISTS, 24 in total, that were utilised to move the eight video cubes up and down. The pods were clad on three sides with LED and were tracked along the arena by the trolley carts.
All movement - tracking and lifting - was run by Chris Das.
