Talented Belgian singer songwriter Max Colombie – known to his many fans as Oscar and the Wolf – has combined popular success with critical acclaim, so WI are really excited to be involved with another rising star artist.

For two high profile shows at the Antwerp Sportpalais, Oscar’s band started the show encased by a large cube of semi-transparent LED video screen onstage, while he strutted around on the ceiling / floor of the construction.

He exited this position on cue, and the video box was then smoothly lifted to reveal the band.

This was part of the striking raw, minimal stage design and visual concept created by the imaginative team of Cate Carter of Bryte Design and Jan De Keyser of The Magic Office.

Eight double-reeved WI 800kg HOISTS were used to lift the trussing superstructure of the video box.

Two HOISTS were positioned at each corner for which WI fabricated special V-plates so these were in exactly the right pick-up positions to take the correct amount of weight.

The box complete with video screens and floor / ceiling weighed 6 tonnes.

The screen cube was raised into its flown ‘show’ position and was used for a mix of playback and IMAG video for the rest of the show, and WI also supplied another two 800K HOISTS to move a truss containing pyro over the stage.
