E-motion at the London’s 02 arena for the Formula 1's first-ever all-team launch, featuring 20 drivers from the new  grid and unveiling the 2025 car liveries.

F1 MOTION GEAR

The event also marks the first international launch of our beloved motion beast: the extremely precise, modular and high tech SP12 spira lift. Count in 3 custom framed WIWAGONS to carry a F1 car from the backstage to the presentation area on the customised lift with video floor and you have quite a good idea of our motion input.

TAKE THAT GIG

Our SP12 elevator was at the same time used to lift up the TAKE THAT band for their show during the F1 75 LIVE.  So honoured WI have been asked again by production director @Chris Vaughan. The This Life On Tour shows, for which both main and B-stage have been almost entirely WI fabricated and motion controlled, will always remain one of our star projects of 2024. For more info check the TAKE THAT case on this website.

SP12

WICreations

The SP12 elevator consists of 4 integrated scissor packages (spiralifts) for unmatched flexibility and performance, making it a standout choice for high-profile productions. The elevator integrates in our WIMOTION platform and can be controlled locally or via show control.

With a travel distance of 8,0 meters the SP12 handles heavy-duty demands effortlessly. At stage level, it boasts a static capacity of 500 kg/m2, supporting a total load of 30,000 kg, including a 7-ton deck spanning 25 m2. In motion, it manages a capacity of 250 kg/m2, accommodating a total of 7,000 kg with the same deck.

Multiple units can be linked to the same control system and can be fully synchronized. This advanced technology is in high demand for all kinds of productions that have invested in high-impact stage effects to boost live experiences. Theaters around the world but also corporate events such as the car reveals showcased above.

The WI Spira12 was first presented in the shiny floor show LiftYouUp of Flemish TV broadcaster VTM as central piece of the format. Check case and video.

For more detailed info on the SP12, just reach out to sales(@)wicreations.com. WIMOTION Elevator SP12 Tech Sheet on demand.

Half a truck is all it takes to store the SP12 motion beast.

CHALLENGES

WICreations
  • Crazy things happened in the backstage with very tight schedules and very little space to swap the cars. Count in some complex manoeuvres with the WI wagons and you have an idea. What a shame we weren’t allowed to film because this was truly impressive!
  • A lot of different creatives (from various teams and the overarching production) making it an intense process during the testing in Shinfield.
  • Very limited time to complete the load-in – rehearsal – show – load-out at the O2. There were only 30 hours from the moment the production entered an empty arena until the doors opened for the audience!

A second WI team of 4 people was brought in to work during the nights.
