The legendary narrative of The Addams Family has been reimagined as a musical, arriving in the Netherlands from a record-breaking run on Broadway and with no less than eleven award nominations under its belt so far. For the Dutch tour, entertainment and automation specialist WI Creations were asked to create two automated turntables to facilitate smooth and seamless changeovers in this fast-moving Dutch adaptation of the show.

As the production is on tour for a full five months and is visiting nine different venues; from Groningen’s Martiniplaza to the New Luxor theatre in Rotterdam and the chasse Theatre in Breda, WIcreations had to ensure that the turntables were not only robust enough to tolerate load-in and load-out but also that they would fit perfectly in every venue.

Based on the characters first created by Charles Addams way back in 1938, becoming the iconic TV comedy in 1964, this new adaptation is directed by Paul Eenens with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and a wicked witty script from Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice of Jersey Boys fame. It maintains the dark, subversive nature of the original, with black humour and satanic undertones at the forefront of the script that has a Dutch twist that keep audiences entranced.

With an all-star cast that features all the characters from the show (not forgetting Thing), the show is breaking all records in terms of production values and artistic performance. The largest touring production in the Netherlands and with nominations for performance and production aplenty, this is a show that WIcreations has been honoured to be a part of.
